2. Why did you choose this issue?
Darfur is one of the areas that needs the most help, and food is a basic need for survival.

• There has been four years of crisis (WFP).
• The United Nations stated that the world's worst humanitarian crisis is in Darfur, the western region in Sudan.
• Around two million people are refugees.
• The World Health Organization said in Darfur, 10,000 people are dying each month from starvation or diesease.
• Near Nyala in the Kalma Refugee Camp, there are 110,000 refugees. The WFP says that only 50% of them are eating.

The World Food Programme (WFP).

5. What exactly are they doing to try to combat/change your issue?
The World Food Programme supplies emergency rations to people in Darfur who were driven out of their homes from violence.

6. What are some of the things you like about their program?
Approximately 2.5 million people survive on the food from the WFP, and without it they would die.

7. How do you plan to become involved with this organization?
We are going to sell various sorts of candy in a fundraiser and donate all the profits to the WFP, who will give food to refugees in Darfur.

Here, you can purchase a high-efficiency stove for refugees in Darfur. These stoves are extremely important, because the refugees are living in camps that are surrounded by dangerous barren land. When they go out of those boundaries to look for fuel to cook food with, they often meet violence.
